Vision & Missions

Responsible sourcing and processing of raw materials for future generations

Our research group is part of the Urban and Urban and Environmental Engineering (UEE) Research Unit of the Faculty of Applied Sciences (FSA) at the University of Liège.

GeMMe stands for:

  • ‘Géoressources, Minéralurgie & Métallurgie Extractive’ in FR
  • ‘Georesources, Mineral Engineering and Extractive Metallurgy’ in EN

GeMMe brings together a team of engineers, scientists and technicians from different disciplines, all of whom have a good understanding of the challenges of developing resources in a sustainable and responsible way. Thanks to their excellent knowledge of the environment, the GeMMe group's engineers develop innovative technical solutions to better characterise, recover and re-functionalize mineral and metal resources. They develop a holistic vision (lifecycle thinking) and work together in a multidisciplinary spirit to meet the challenges of the circular economy.
