Philippe Giaro

BSc in geology from McGill University in 1984 (Montreal, Canada) and MSc in geological sciences from the Université de Liège in 2014 (Liège, Belgium). A business-oriented person with a technical background along with an extensive international track record, Philippe contributes transectorial business and managerial experience in raw materials with a strong focus on project management, communication and marketing. From 1984 to 2000, he held various positions as a geologist and project manager for junior and major mining companies such as COGEMA (now Orano) and Falconbridge (now Xstrata). Between 2000 and 2005, he worked for a Belgian engineering company, TPF Basse Sambre, in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. Philippe joined SearchGold as Vice President Exploration in 2005 and was President of the Company until 2011. He was involved in the development of the first commercial gold mine in Gabon. In 2008, Philippe founded Golden Share Mining Corporation, served as President upon listing on the TSXV Exchange and engineered its merger with a Chinese mining group in 2013. In 2015 he started consulting for various industrial Canadian and Belgian clients. Since 2017, he has occupied the position of Senior Research Officer for the GeMMe at ULiège with a focus on the management of EU research project.
