Our team was represented at the DRC Mining Week 2026 organized in Lubumbashi on 17-19 June. Prof. Eric Pirard, David Bastin and Michèle Batutiako joined and participated in the event during a 2-week trip in DRC in June.

Pour la troisième année consécutive, notre équipe participera au Jogging Entreprises avec une équipe de marcheurs et marcheuses et une équipe de joggeurs. 16 membres de l'équipe sont inscrit-es et représenteront ainsi le GeMMe ULiège pour soutenir ELA, l'association européenne contre les leucodystrophies.

L'événement est organisé par le RISE ULiège et Liege Science Park.

Philippe Giaro has been invited to speak on the topic of exploration and mining at the Expert Focus Group event organised by the European Lithium Institute on 18 May in Brussels.

Critical Materials & Battery Value Chains Europe 2026 is a two-day European event bringing together research, industry and policy actors to address the strategic, technological and societal challenges shaping the upstream battery value chain in Europe.

Our colleague Philippe Giaro will attend the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) 2026 Convention in Toronto early March.

In partnership with AWEX and with the support of WBI's research and innovation department, GeMMe will represent the mining sector in Wallonia.

beMedTech Academy

Medical Technologies & Sustainability: innovations for a greener healthcare  

The session organized by the beMedTech Academy on December 8 featured concrete examples and innovative projects in the fields of recycling and recovery of medical electronic waste.

Our colleague Thomas Néron, leader of the Metspitals project launched as part of the Interuniversity Chair in Circular Economy  for which he is responsible, was invited to speak on the issue of metal circulation and waste management in hospitals.
