Université de Liège – GeMMe enthusiastically participated in the 5th General Assembly of the MAGELLAN Project EU, gathering European partners in Rueil-Malmaison, France, on April 8 and 9, 2026.
The conference welcomes interdisciplinary contributions. Submissions may include original research, case studies, policy analyses, and practical implementation experiences supporting the transition toward a sustainable circular economy.

An academic position in the field of Mineral Resources and Geometallurgy is open and available at University of Liège. Our research group in Georesources, Mineral Engineering and Extractive Metallurgy is looking for someone to fill Pr. Eric Pirard's shoes as from September 2026.

During Raw Materials Week (Brussels, 17 to 21 November 2025), our colleague Philippe Giaro will participate in a side event on 20 November on the extraction of rare earths in Myanmar for the production of permanent magnets. He will be part of the experts panel.
The goal is to get a better understanding of the situation and to develop concrete approaches and recommendations to improve the current situation.
