Responsible sourcing and processing of raw materials for future generations
The session organized by the beMedTech Academy on December 8 featured concrete examples and innovative projects in the fields of recycling and recovery of medical electronic waste.
Our colleague Thomas Néron, leader of the Metspitals project launched as part of the Interuniversity Chair in Circular Economy for which he is responsible, was invited to speak on the issue of metal circulation and waste management in hospitals.
Our colleagues Charles Baudinet, David Bastin (GeMMe - Université de Liège), and Robert Baudinet (representing Matvision) presented the progress of our work on the CISMA project during the General Assembly held on 25–26 November in the Netherlands.
They got the opportunity to visit Tata Steel Nederland, with an impressive tour of their casting, production, and R&D facilities.
GeMMe ULiège is proud to be part of the FEDER/FTJ FREEDOM project.
The project aims to set up a magnesium production chain in the Walloon Region, based on end-of-life products and secondary raw materials from the circular economy.
